Understanding Directional Cell Migration

The movement of cells in a liquid medium is one of the most basic and necessary processes in nature. Many functions depend on either activation or inhibition of this movement, and learning to regulate it holds the promise of controlling diseases and promoting some beneficial conditions. The tissue repair involved in wound healing, for instance, is a valuable use of cell migration, and modern science enhancements that facilitate this movement should make healing happen faster and more easily.
